Tom’s executive experience spans across many industries including retail management, product management, distribution logistics, mortgage, finance, small business ownership, franchising, Real Estate, and mergers & acquisitions.

Tom held an executive position with a top Powersports Aftermarket Distributorship which provides the foundation of specific industry knowledge necessary to service the Powersports Industry vertical. During this tenure, Tom negotiated multi-million dollar purchase orders with many of the Powersports Industry’s top manufacturers. Tom also interfaced extensively with the sales team and dealership customer base. He then moved on to a Fortune 500 Mortgage firm specializing in new construction financing.

While this role was a great learning experience, Tom discovered his passion was for entrepreneurship which is ever present in the Middle Market arena. Tom began his own franchised business which led to participating in franchise sales and eventually larger mergers & acquisitions. Tom’s professional success and well-rounded experience transcends the skills necessary for successful M&A transactions which drive the firm. Tom founded the company in 2001 which has been revolutionizing the buying and selling of middle market businesses ever since.

Tom is a top honors graduate (Magna Cum Laude) from the Texas Tech University College of Business Administration with concentration in Management, Marketing, and Finance.

Jerry has been in Executive Sales, Marketing and Distribution positions with Fortune 500 companies throughout his post graduate tenure. His education includes a Bachelor and Masters Degree in marketing/industrial relations from the University of Wisconsin. He moved to Dallas, Texas in 1985 and has traveled extensively in his professional career bringing clients together around the globe.

He has worked with angel investors, Wall Street entrepreneurs, private equity groups, real estate investment trusts, and venture capital firms from the technology IPO boom era through the present environment working in the US and Canada.

Jerry is a licensed real estate intermediary and Mergers & Acquisition specialist. Jerry works with investors, manufacturers, distributors, lenders, and dealers on a daily basis. His depth and breadth of experience, skillful communication and networking provide a unique reach to investors that are unattainable through traditional marketing channels.

He can speak to the financials and business processes to actually close deals. He offers expert consultation and impeccable attention to detail on a 24/7/365 basis to the investment community.

David Clay brings over 20 years of business experience to the Sunbelt team. A graduate of the University of Texas with a BBA in Finance, the majority of David’s career has been in operational and financial management of small businesses.

Within three years of graduating college, David had already realized success with two different entrepreneurial startups in the offset printing industry, both of which became worldwide industry leaders in their respective fields. In addition to taking David around the globe in support of his companies, the printing industry brought him experience in small business finance and accounting, research and development, manufacturing, patents and trademarks, and employee management.

David’s experience with mergers and acquisitions also began during his tenure in the printing industry when he and his partners sold their own company to an investment group, with David being the lead negotiator and purchase contract architect. It is this experience that led David to have a love and appreciation of the mergers and acquisitions process, both from a personal and professional level, which has now transcended with him to the powersports industry. Since 2002 David has been directly involved in the ownership changes at over 10 dealerships and now brings this experience directly to the Sunbelt team.

David, as Vice President-Finance & Analytics, will assist clients in the preparation of their businesses for sale and will be the primary liaison with prospective buyers in aspects of due diligence and seller finances. David also provides financial, operational, and software consulting services to our clients.

Mike, a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, has an extensive background in the financial industry both on the retail side and as a commodities trader on an exchange.

This background combination has made him a valuable asset and a perfect fit for the Sunbelt Middle Market team. Mike’s first experience with Sunbelt Middle Market team was the successful consummation of the buy / sell of Mike’s current major multi-line powersports dealership. That positive experience initiated his interest in the business and fueled his desire to become a part of the Sunbelt Middle Market organization.

Mike’s inside industry knowledge, interpersonal skills, and negotiation abilities provide a unique contribution in bringing opposing parties together and closing deals.

Jenny has hit the ground running in the incredibly fast paced environment of Sunbelt Middle Market Mergers & Acquisitions.

With a background in medical/scientific sales, she recently worked as a Technical Sales Specialist for an international molecular imaging company and was responsible for managing a sales team of 17 throughout the southern U.S. Her professionalism, communication skills, work ethic and attention to detail have allowed her to immediately transition into a project management role here at Sunbelt M&A touching all facets of our business and partner groups.

Jenny’s analytical background in the life sciences and technical sales experience allows her to strategically tackle the complex issues of the Middle Market arena.

She will be based in our Dallas-Fort Worth / Las Colinas office where she will be managing contracts and acting as an Account Intermediary across North America. Jenny is an honors graduate (Magna Cum Laude) of both Texas Christian University with a Master of Science degree in Cellular Biology and Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and minor in Communication Studies.
