~ Michael grew up, was educated, and has spent most of his working life in Alberta.
~ He began his University at U of C in Commerce. The Oilpatch called, and Michael spent several years in the field of Oil and Gas exploration. This culminated with a stint of two years overseas as Chief Surveyor on a project for Amoco Oil.
~ Subsequent to that, he finished his degree at U of A in Education.
~Michael spent fifteen years teaching, with breaks in between in sales. He has owned and operated a small business in the food industry, and most recently he has concentrated his efforts in sales and marketing. After years in the Real Estate industry, Michael turned his attention to Business Brokerage, and decided to affiliate with Sunbelt, a company that spans North America, and is now Global in reach. Sunbelt is a leader in the field, with a proven process for selling Main Street businesses as well as handling larger Mergers and Acquisitions.
~ Michael, along with other brokers in the firm, are members of the International Business Brokers Association, and look forward to acting as intermediaries in the successful transition of small and medium sized business to new ownership.
Advisors
Lorne has enjoyed careers in a wide range of endeavors, including academics, sports, and business. The latter includes development and ownership of several very successful business ventures in hospitality, restaurant, agribusiness, and manufacturing. Lorne has also had experience in the development and teaching of management and leadership training, both for in-house and external organizations. These qualities combine to make Lorne a very valuable asset in our brokerage.
George is looking forward to building new relationships and helping people realize their dreams, whether it is evaluating, buying or selling a business. He believes every transaction must be a fair deal and a win-win scenario for all parties.
Broker at Sunbelt Edmonton for the last six years. B.Sc. (Computing science) from University of Alberta and 20+ years in Information Systems as Computer Operator, Systems Analyst & Project Manager. Became a Realtor in 1992 and then a Real Estate Broker in 1999, both as an independent and as a franchise brokerage.
Previous designations held: FRI (Fellow of the Real Estate Institute) and CRES (Certified Real Estate Specialist), both awarded by the Real Estate Institute of Canada),
Current designations are: CBI (Certified Business Intermediary) from IBBA (International Business Brokers Association), and CMEA (Certified Machinery & Equipment Appraiser) from NEBB (National Equipment & Business Builders) Institute.
