Stephen F. Stone has over 30 years of business management, operations, sales and marketing experience. He established the Sunbelt Business Broker office in Hampton Roads in 1997, expanded later into Richmond and has built a nationally recognized organization. In 2001, Steve and his office were selected as the Sunbelt Office of the Year from over 230 offices worldwide. Background: Steve is a native of Hampton Virginia. He received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia and has practiced as a Professional Engineer. He has taught business management courses at Christopher Newport University and has lectured on merger and acquisition topics to entrepreneurial groups, Chamber of Commerce business classes and business organizations.
Steve's career began with Virginia Power. He was the first Division Manager with Virginia Natural Gas and received numerous awards for sales growth, customer satisfaction and operational excellence. He ended his corporate career as Director of Marketing with Consolidated Natural Gas, a Fortune 200 company.
In the community, Steve has served as Chairman of the Board for two terms with the United Way: as President of his Rotary Club; and on the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce, Red Cross and Salvation Army. He was also previously on the regional board of Signet Bank.
