Jim began his career with IBM, spent seven years in various marketing and geographic industry management positions, then moved to the Oil & Gas industry where he became an officer of a small exploration and drilling company. He subsequently co-founded an investment banking company, a securities broker-dealer and a real estate brokerage firm. He specialized in the capitalization, acquisition and operations of several business entities, some of which he continues to serve as a board member. Jim also has an extensive background in the real estate industry, most recently, as a mortgage banker with an institutional lender. He has provided financing for residential real estate borrowers, homebuilders and commercial properties and businesses. He is also a principal and co-founder of a firm that is involved in the development of senior affordable housing. In addition to serving on the boards of two emerging-growth, technology-based companies, he is also a founding partner of The Resource Board, a mentoring entity for emerging growth businesses. Jim earned a B.S. from the University of Wyoming with a triple major in Economics, Mathematics-Statistics, and French, then continued his education with graduate work in the MBA program at the University of Colorado, specializing in Finance.
