Sunbelt Business Brokers Of Raleigh Predicts A Dramatic Increase In Small Business Sales For The Final Six Months Of 2012

There is a good opportunity to sell a small business in the last half of 2012 due to the November elections. Sunbelt Business Brokers of Raleigh predicts a surge of buyers will make it easier to sell a business.

“There are a lot of small and lower middle market business buyers wanting and needing to buy a business but lack confidence in the business environment”, says Mark Richie CBI, owner of Sunbelt Business Brokers of Raleigh. “That is about to change, making it easier to sell a business, especially sell a small business”, says Richie. “The time is now”.

It is Richie’s belief that the writing on the wall is getting clearer that our current anti-business administration is going to be voted out in favor of a pro-business administration. A great many buyers who were waiting for the business environment to change will be entering the market. If they anticipate of a pro-business administration, before or after the elections, they are looking to buy. Sunbelt has already seen evidence of this in buyer behavior. There is a pick up in buyer inquiries and occasionally a heavy increase due to news events. In 2010 Sunbelt of Raleigh saw an influx of buyers after the November elections and sold several businesses in a seasonally slow period.

“It is very important that those interested in selling get their business to market it now with a national company like Sunbelt”, says Richie, “to take advantage of this pent up buyer enthusiasm.” Owners should try to get their businesses under contract in 2012, ensuring that they will get the benefit of the historically low long term capital gains rate of 15%. Most importantly, if the business environment does not improve immediately as many buyers are anticipating, the sellers have not lost a valuable opportunity to sell.

Sunbelt is the world’s largest business brokerage firm, with approximately 250 licensed offices located throughout the world. Annually, more than 1,400 Sunbelt brokers coordinate an estimated 3,000 Main Street and Middle Market business transactions. That is why the company says, “Sunbelt is the place to go to buy or sell a business.”

The Raleigh office of Sunbelt has been serving buyers and sellers for 25 years. Mark Richie is designated by the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) as a Certified Business Intermediary (CBI). There is an experienced staff of brokers including specialists in the Food & Beverage Business and Publishing & Media.
