Dave Ball is President and Managing Director of Sunbelt Business Brokers of Pittsburgh. Since 1998, his firm has been serving the South Western Pennsylvania market and has helped hundreds of business owners successfully transfer their business to a new owner. Since the beginning, Dave focused all his efforts in assisting owners with taking their business to the market and finding financially capable buyers who are willing and able to successfully purchase their business. As a full time broker, he puts the time and effort in to each transaction. Dave knows that getting an offer on a business is only the beginning. Helping both buyer and seller navigate through the due diligence process and getting all parties to the closing table is the biggest challenge to a successful sale. Experience can be the biggest difference between hoping a sale will go through and making sure the deal goes through. Dave served as an officer in the US Army for eight years. He was a company commander in one of the most decorated and famous divisions (the 101st Airborne Division) and had received the Bronze Star for his actions in Desert Storm. After leaving the Army, he went into the helicopter industry and worked for a large Bell Helicopter Sales and Service company. In three short years, Dave rose through the ranks and became the Vice President of Operations. Although he enjoyed his time in both the Army and in the helicopter industry, Dave’s goal was to own and operate his own business. He did his research and found Sunbelt to be the organization he wanted to join. He bought his first franchise in 1998 and two years later, bought out another Sunbelt office to own the entire Pittsburgh and Southwestern PA market. A few years later, Dave and a group of Sunbelt owners purchased the entire Sunbelt Network. Dave served on the Board of Directors until they sold to the current owner who owns multiple franchise systems.
Dave has an impressive list of accomplishments. Besides his firm being a leader in the market, he earned the Certified Business Intermediary designation from the International Business Brokers Association, won the Office of the Year Award for the entire Sunbelt Network in 2004, selected by multiple national companies to conduct training on the proper methodology of selling businesses, elected as an officer of the President’s Advisory Council to represent Sunbelt franchisees, participated with an investment group to purchase the Sunbelt Franchise, elected as an officer of the Board of Directors for the Sunbelt Franchise while positioning the Franchise for acquisition.
