After spending nearly three decades leading global businesses in Fortune 50 companies, Sanjay has gained in-depth experience in assessing businesses, and building plans to grow, turnaround, merge, acquire, or exit businesses. Earlier in his career, Sanjay founded and ran a small computer reseller and systems integration firm.

Sanjay holds an MBA in Finance and Investments from the University of Hull, UK, and is also certified in Strategy Consulting by the Harvard University Extension School. Joshua Meltzer has spent his career as a small business owner working with other small and mid-size business owners. Because of this background, he is able to bring 25+ years of entrepreneurial experience to assist with business transitions. He has first-hand knowledge of the day to day challenges of being a small business owner.

Before joining Sunbelt as a senior business broker, he and his partners bought and sold several employee benefits businesses eventually growing their company from 10 employees to 200 employees. After reaching this milestone, Joshua and his partners sold their business to a large national firm.

Joshua has been working as an advisor to small business owners for over 25 years. He is thoroughly familiar with the retirement, financial planning, investment, and insurance needs of these businesses and owners. Now, working with business owners as a professional business intermediary, he can help them to optimize and confidentially sell their businesses so that they can transition to retirement or a second career. He also will assist buyers who are looking to buy a business.

Joshua received his B.S. in Business and Communications from Syracuse University and is a Certified Business Intermediary, Certified Financial Planner™, Certified Main Street Business Broker, Certified Exit Planning Advisor™, Certified Life Underwriter, and Chartered Financial Consultant. Joshua holds a Massachusetts Insurance brokers license and Real Estate Brokers license in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Mark has worked in quality assurance at nuclear power plants in Virginia and as a design engineer in New England at Raytheon and Parkinson Technologies. He owned and ran Merchant’s Fabrication (a metal fabrication contract manufacturer) for ten years before engaging Sunbelt to assist him in selling it in 2019.

Mark has deep experience in the manufacturing industry having operated his own business, and after going through a couple of buy/sell transactions himself. Somewhat “retired”, Mark enjoys writing and helping owners of manufacturing business to position their businesses for sale.

Mark has undergraduate degrees in both Nuclear Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering along with graduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration. His alma mater for the last three degrees is WPI. Mark is also a licensed profession engineer in the State of Massachusetts.

Becoming a franchise coach has been a perfect convergence of Elaine’s professional career. With an extensive commercial real estate and finance background, she brings brokerage, analytics and customer service to her franchise consulting practice. In addition, as a two-time franchise owner, she has direct experience – the first time as an owner/operator, which she successfully operated on Cape Cod during the Great Recession of 2009, and presently, as a multi-unit franchisee of a different brand during the Corona pandemic.

After more than a decade brokering commercial real estate south of Boston, she earned her Master’s in Real Estate from M.I.T. This changed the course of her career to Wall Street, where she served as a REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) analyst. Similar to determining whether a stock should be a buy, sell or hold, she applies the same critical analysis to the franchise companies she elects to work with. She assesses the business strategy, the depth and strength of the management team, its financial track record, franchisee satisfaction and positioning in the marketplace, to name a few.

Having “been there, done that” Elaine can fully relate to, and better serve, her candidates. Franchising isn’t for everyone, nor is every franchise suitable for each individual. It requires following a specific process. Elaine takes each candidate through a detailed consultation (1) to determine if franchising is right for them, and if it is, (2) identify the right business model (ie. executive model, owner-operator, semi-absentee, bricks & mortar, mobile or home based, recession resistant, lifestyle, socially conscious, etc…) and (3) arrive at a custom-tailored list of franchise options based upon that individual’s specific talents, skill set, time commitment, preferences/aversions, investment parameters, territory and life goals.
