Shanon Madrid is the Owner and Principal Broker of Sunbelt Business Brokers serving the North Carolina Triangle and Triad regions. With more than three decades of experience in mergers and acquisitions, business valuation, and entrepreneurial operations, she provides middle-market business owners with informed, strategic guidance throughout every stage of the sale and transition process.

Shanon’s practice is built on a disciplined understanding of business fundamentals and market dynamics. Leveraging Sunbelt’s national advisory platform and a team of seasoned negotiators with more than 50 years of combined experience, she delivers rigorous Price Point Evaluations, tailored go-to-market strategies, and hands-on advisory support to help clients achieve certainty, clarity, and premium outcomes.

She is a recognized subject matter expert in the private equity space, and SBA / Mezzanine financing; with broad transactional expertise across multiple B2B services, , manufacturing, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services, healthcare, childcare, automotive, software and e-commerce. Her sector knowledge enables her to accurately assess value drivers, anticipate buyer concerns, and guide clients through complex deal structures with confidence.

Prior to leading Sunbelt’s North Carolina operations, she served as a Senior Vice President in commercial banking, advising business owners on capital strategy, growth financing, and long-term operational planning. Her career has been defined by her commitment to helping entrepreneurs unlock value and successfully navigate ownership transitions.

In addition to her professional achievements, Shanon is a 31-year retired United States Air Force Officer, where she served as a Lieutenant Colonel overseeing Hospital Administration and as the Medical Director of Operations for an Air Evacuation Squadron. A seasoned combat veteran with four deployments, she brings exceptional leadership, discipline, and mission-focused execution to every engagement.

Shanon is also deeply committed to community impact. She is an advocate for women entrepreneurs and dedicates significant time to mentoring and supporting female business owners. Outside of her professional work, she is a proud mother and actively engaged in service, education, and leadership development initiatives. Shanon holds a Bachelor of Health Science from New Mexico State University and a Master of Business Administration from Central Michigan University.
