Robert Mitchell

Robert Mitchell - MBA, P.Eng, CBI, MM&AI, Broker of Record. - Current President of IBBA Canada Rob was actively looking to buy a business in the fall of 2004 and met with several Business Brokers to look at businesses for sale in the Ottawa region. He was so intrigued by the process that he decided to open his own office. Rob is an international entrepreneur with extensive management, operations, business development and project management experience. Rob has experience working in Global markets and also has small business experience in Canada and currently owns several businesses in Ontario. Robert is an Executive and Founding member of the Canadian Chapter of the International Business Brokers Association and is the current sitting President of the Canadian Chapter. He holds the designations of Certified Business Intermediary and Master Mergers and Acquisitions Intermediary. With his Engineering and Business background he focuses primarily on medium sized manufacturing and light industry businesses with 1 to 20 Million in sales. Prior to becoming a Business Broker, Mr. Mitchell was with the highly respected company of Procter & Gamble where he held several management positions around the world. Mr. Mitchell received his Engineering Degree from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton. He attained his Masters of Business from Rutgers University of New Jersey while living in Beijing China. He gave the valedictorian address to the graduating class in Beijing in 2000.

Philip Moffit

Philip, a retired Airline Transport Rated Pilot and Class 1 Flight Instructor, has had a successful 35-year career in the Aviation Industry. In 1979 Philip graduated with high honours from the prestigious Seneca Aviation Program in Toronto. He enjoyed time as a bush pilot and a Charter Aircraft Pilot in northern B.C. Soon afterwards Philip became involved with Flight Training and founded his own Academy in Ontario which eventually grew to 4 satellite bases with 14 Aircraft. Philip has held positions such as Corporate Pilot, Chief Pilot, Chief Flight Instructor, Pilot Examiner and Director of Flight Operations. Philip has helped launch the careers of hundreds of today’s Airline pilots. In 2005 Philip and his wife Wendy sold the Academy but he continued to be involved in Aviation. He also became involved with numerous business ventures including Commercial Real-Estate purchases and sales, Construction Trades related business start-ups and the development of 2 international Flight training Schools with ties to Chinese Airlines and Egypt. The one common element along Philip’s journey has been his passion for Business. Dwayne Mitchell

Dwayne M. Mitchell CBI is a Business Intermediary with the Sunbelt office serving the Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph, Brampton, and surrounding areas. Dwayne purchased and sold businesses and investment properties for over 10 years, during which time he was a director of the Waterloo Region Apartment Management Association and a member of the Real Estate Investment Network. He received the “Outstanding Citizen Award” in 2001. He was also employed for 15 years with a large distribution company. He worked in all aspects of the company and contributed to the growth in sales from 180 million to 250 million, making it the largest family owned Food distribution company in Canada. He personally started and sold four companies during that same time period. Dwayne was in the process of selling his current business when he was introduced to Sunbelt Mergers & Acquisitions and was impressed with their due diligence and methods of marketing and selling companies. He joined the Sunbelt team in 2009 and trained in Ottawa. He is one of 35 people in Canada with the CBI certification. He is currently a member of the IBBA and holds an Ontario Real Estate License. Based on his work experience prior to Sunbelt, he specializes in middle market Acquisitions, Divestitures and Restructuring of privately held Businesses throughout Canada and the US with annual revenues of 5-75 million. Dwayne’s interests are aerobatic flying, golf, long drive challenges, long range target shooting, Mercedes Benz Club Canada, and spending time with his wife, 3 sons, and his Doberman pinscher. Mr. Mitchell’s commitments to his clients are second to none. His advisory team consists of tax lawyers, business lawyers, financial advisers and chartered accountants. Martin Wilson

Calling on experience gained in a lengthy career in Mergers & Acquisitions, Martin assists business owners of small to medium-sized businesses with the sale of their company. Providing support in the areas of business valuations, confidential marketing, attracting/screening buyers, negotiation and closing of deals that provide value for both sides of the transaction. Acquisition experience includes dealing with owner/operators, corporate entities, private investors as well as equity groups. Martin has also worked as an independent software consultant, specializing in consolidation, financial reporting and business intelligence solutions. Special projects related to the integration of new acquisitions as well as the carve out of entities to be divested. Industries served include manufacturing, mining, distribution, insurance and service providers. Martin’s career also includes experience in corporate finance within both multi-national and privately owned businesses.
