She is an MBA graduate from Athabasca University and wrote her applied project on Family Business Succession. She continues to study at the Sauder School of Business in the area of Family Business Advising and has chosen to apply her background, experience and education to help business owners plan for succession, intergenerational transfers and divestitures. Her 25 years of experience includes family and personal businesses. The process of starting and growing businesses, separating related companies and selling a company has given her great insight into due diligence requirements, general and specific knowledge required to buy or sell a business, as well as the need for careful planning and execution. Prior to joining Sunbelt Pacific, Tim owned and managed businesses at all levels of the consumer goods industry: importing/distributing, manufacturing, sales agency and retail. As an entrepreneur, his commitment to exceptional customer service contributed to his success over the twenty years in business. During this period, Tim purchased a retail store in 1988, and after years of hard work and growth, was able to sell it in 2002. His positive experience with the process led him to a career in business brokerage. Tim was passionate about his business, and he understands the importance of balancing both the financial and other, intangible considerations in any transfer of ownership.As a Business Broker, Tim appreciates the needs of business owners wishing to sell and of entrepreneurs hoping to buy. With an extensive background in developing business he was responsible for securing new customers, penetrating new and existing markets and delivering on time sensitive projects. John spent 15 years practicing commercial law before joining Sunbelt. His business law experience included acting for small and medium sized businesses in the fields of forestry, tourism, employment, commercial leasing, real estate transactions, construction and First Nation business. He is intimately familiar with the challenges faced by businesses today, and through his legal background has honed negotiation skills to help these businesses find practical and progressive solutions. As a former partner and commercial litigator at one of British Columbia's oldest law firms, John understands the workings of business. In joining the Sunbelt Pacific team John is now able to apply the breadth of his experience to business brokerage clientele, and looks forward to the challenge of finding creative solutions "to get the deal done". He has particular interests in the tourism and hospitality industry, succession planning for business owners, and resource companies.
