About Us
We are "the place to go to buy or sell a business" in the Greater Toronto Area west through the Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, Milton & Cambridge area.
Not all Business Brokers are the same:
~ Sunbelt is the largest Business Brokerage firm in the world.
~ We are able to provide better business valuations because we are in touch with market demand, purchase financing options and a large pool of buyers.
~ We specialize in confidential sales and guard our sellers' intellectual and financial property. Clients and employees of the business only find out about the sale when the time is right.
~ Our work with sellers begins with a discussion on how businesses are sold for the best price and deal structure, to help them formulate the most effective exit strategy and prepare the business for sale.
~ We work carefully with our buyers to match their skills and financial comfort level with businesses that will be a good fit for them.
Office Owner
Ron Sloan brings practical experience as an entrepreneur and business consultant to the Sunbelt team. Originally from Montreal, Ron attended Concordia University and McGill. His MBA in Marketing served him well when launching and running several very successful manufacturing businesses in Florida. He returned to Canada after selling his Florida businesses, to become Marketing Director of Coca-Cola Canada. He was later recruited to build the global wine business of the Seagram organization. In the early 90's Ron joined the Boston-based Forum Corporation to provide corporate training and consulting to the banking, brokerage and insurance industry. He pioneered internet-delivered training with Canada's major banks and government. He became an industry expert in the delivery of training electronically and started his own eLearning newsletter which was well-subscribed by the Fortune 500. He was invited to join Accenture, the largest consulting company in the world, (formerly Andersen Consulting) as an industry expert in eLearning. In this capacity he provided electronic commerce strategy consulting with clients such as GE Capital, Merrill Lynch, John Hancock Insurance, Solomon, Smith Barney, US Postal Service and Bank America. While at Accenture, his company filed 28 patents for innovations that Ron was responsible for developing. After 9-11, Ron decided not to fly to the US every week and started his own consulting practice in Toronto. Clients included The Ontario Securities Commission and Mastercard Canada. Ron was actively looking to buy a business in 2003 and was disappointed with the resources available. He researched the best of the industry - and joined Sunbelt in Toronto to provide higher quality business brokerage services to individuals and companies.
Advisors
Barbara brings practical experience to the Sunbelt team. Born into an entrepreneurial family in the Maritimes, from the age of 13 she worked on weekends in the family retail business throughout her teen years. During university she began her career in marketing and communications, working as a radio announcer and on-air program host. Following graduation she worked in advertising and promotions in Toronto for Canadian retail chains and destination shopping complexes, and from there began a dynamic 20-year career with UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund. During her rise through the organization to Deputy Executive Director, Communications, she developed programs and provided leadership in areas that heightened awareness, created revenue opportunities and raised funds for the organization. From UNICEF Barbara moved to the position of Managing Director for Right To Play, a highly entrepreneurial international athlete-driven humanitarian organization headquartered in Toronto, delivering sport and play programs to the world's most disadvantaged children in developing countries.
