Mark has a Bachelor of Science in Business from UNC at Chapel Hill. After sales positions he was a retail stockbroker with a major Wall Street firm. His first business was a small B2B firm he franchised into a 40+-location business. During this time he also acted as Registered Options Principle for a regional brokerage firm. His next business was a small wholesale distributor that grew to $6mil+ sales. It was sold as the regional market share leader to a firm four times its size doing a “roll-up” in that industry. Mark believes small businesses are the most important business in America and he wants to help owners reach their goals. Mark is designated a Certified Business Intermediary by the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) and is a North Carolina real estate broker.

Prior to joining Sunbelt Business Brokers, Bob served as Sr. Personal Banker, Wachovia-Wells Fargo Bank in Belhaven NC in 2011. From 2007 to 2010, he was a real estate broker with The Rich Company in Washington and Bath NC and earned “Million-Dollar Producer” Awards twice.
In 1995, Bob founded Tructor Vehicles Inc, a vehicle development company in Marion MA & Columbus IN, where his patented work/farm vehicles won Agricultural Engineering (ASABE) and farm equipment industry awards in 1999 and 2000 and attracted attention of Deere & Co., New Holland, Bobcat and other majors. Bob sold the Company in 2007 to a Texas manufacturing firm.
For 18 years, Bob was employed at Verizon Corp (a Bell System telco) as national accounts rep in New York, where he sold the first $2 Million enterprise account. He was promoted to Branch Manager, and retired early as Business Accounts Executive in Boston.
Before that, Bob served as president of The Diesel Automobile & Tractor Association a national organization of Diesel service firms, based in New York, NY. He appeared on ABC-TV’s “20/20” as spokesperson for the Diesel automobile industry.
Bob holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton Division in organizational sociology and communications systems.
Bob and his wife Brenda live in "Little" Washington NC, where they enjoy golf and boating.

Tom has worked, lived, and traveled extensively throughout the U.S., including North Carolina for more than 30 years. He has 25+ years of Executive management experience in finance, retail, marketing, service, consulting, and operations. Tom joined the Sunbelt team (various states) Jan. 1998 after holding executive positions in the petroleum industry, as well as President of a management and consulting services corporation. He holds degrees in Liberal Arts and Business Management. He has earned the professional brokerage credentials of a Professional Senior Certified Business Advisor, and also holds a real estate brokers license. He is a Charter member of the Carolina-Virginia Business Brokers Association (CVBBA, which includes both Carolinas, and Virginia), and as a member of the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) he is a candidate for the prestigious credentials/designation of CBI (Certified Business Intermediary) on an International level. He has listed over 300 businesses, and works with a database of in excess of 2,000 buyers in search of retail, service, wholesale, distribution and manufacturing businesses, while being involved with the successful sale of 150+ businesses. Tom provides the professional services needed by business owners and buyers through his extensive experience, which enables him to work successfully with all parties, and through all phases of a transaction from the initial valuation through negotiations and to a successful closing. Mr. Martinez business career started in 1968, and has included fortune 500 companies, such as The Southland Corp., Amoco Oil, and Crown Central Petroleum. Over the last 17 years he has worked as a Business Broker for Sunbelt Business Brokers. Jim has owned and sold 3 businesses, and is the founder and President of Triangle Management Group, Inc., established in 1998. He moved from Denver Colorado to Raleigh, NC in 1979, and started his career as a Business Broker/Advisor in 1995. During the last 17 years in general business brokerage he has performed valuations of hundreds of businesses for sellers and buyers, and has been involved in over 200 transactions. As a Business Broker, he has always shared his knowledge and experience with business associates, several hundred sellers and several thousand buyers of the many businesses he has listed in Retail, Service, Distribution and Manufacturing.
Jim’s greatest pleasure is helping a seller prepare his business for sale with an exit plan that meets his needs, as well as helping and educating the many buyers that are ready to experience the ownership of a business.

Prior to joining Sunbelt, Trae MCarthy has spent the past 10 years working with private investors on the redevelopment of several businesses ranging from the restaurant industry to large scale farming. Trae gained the respect of his peers in 2009 after taking over a failed restaurant, at the height of the market crash, with gross sales of $650,000 to a successful new concept with 2010 gross sales of $2,400,000. That business gained national exposure when it was featured on the Food Networks show Diners, Drive-in’s and Dives nine months after opening. He spent 2010 consulting golf courses, real estate firms and restaurants on issues such as financial planning to marketing strategies. He is experienced in addressing the specific needs of his clients who operate both large and small businesses in the restaurant industry. Because of this knowledge, he delivers top quality brokerage service to the Food and Beverage industry. Trae has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management and a certification in Better Process and Control from Clemson University. He is also a licensed Real Estate agent in both North and South Carolina.
