Office Owner
As Co-founder of Sunbelt Advisors, Inc., David has been involved with a wide range of business transactions from most sectors of the economy. His experience spans both the Sell and Buy side of transactions. David brings 22 years of negotiating and deal facilitation experience to every client’s transaction. David is a member of the Sunbelt, Presidents Club for million dollar plus producers.
Sunbelt Advisors, Inc. specializes in selling privately held companies with gross sales below $30 million dollars. The company’s success has come from approaching each engagement with a team of business specialists vs. the traditional single broker approach. David’s main role is to mentor and support specialized teams of business brokers. Sunbelt Advisors has team’s specializing in Logistics & Trucking, Warehousing, Manufacturing, Contractor Businesses, Retail, and Assisted Living Facilities.
David spent fifteen years in Financial Services, where he raised assets for mutual fund companies and was a consultant to both money center banks and national securities brokerage firms. David spent three years living and working in Asia where he managed the emerging markets division for Asia's largest trade media company. He is a skilled multi-cultural facilitator and negotiator. He has negotiated licensing agreements and closed transactions in eight foreign countries.
David is a volunteer “Entrepreneur in Secession” at Cal State Fullerton’s, Entrepreneur Program. In this role he is a mentor to both under graduate and graduate students as they think up and then implement startup business ventures. In addition, David is the Chairman of the Annual Giving Campaign at the Waldorf School of Orange County.
David holds a Bachelors of Science in Marketing from Robert Morris University, and a MBA in International Business from The American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird) and he is a member of the California Association of Business Brokers and the International Business Broker Association. David is a Certified Machinery and Equipment Appraiser and a member of the Society of Business Analyst.
David Tabone, CMEA, has been awarded the CMEA designation (Certified Machinery/ Equipment Appraiser) by the NEBB Institute. CMEAs are located throughout the United States and several foreign countries, and are used by banks, other lending institutions, CPAs, attorneys, business buyers/sellers and others to provide needed financial information for a variety of reasons.

Brokers
John is a skilled negotiator, consultant and senior executive. He started his career in a fortune 100 company managing such areas as materials/operations mgt, industrial eng, mfg, and administrative functions. He spent the other half of his career owning, consulting, and performing at an executive level for small firms engaged in distribution, international mfg, contract mfg, negotiations, consulting, and national sales. He has sold a wide variety of companies during his career, and has consulted with CEO's of companies ranging in sales from $500k to over $90 million.
John's formal education includes a BS in Production/Operations Management from Arizona State University, and an Executive Masters of Business Administration from Pepperdine University. John is a licensed California Broker, Certified Production and Inventory Control Manager, Certified Machine & Equipment Appraiser, Certified Loan Broker, and has obtained "train-the-trainer" status with APICS. Additionally, he has achieved the "Certified Business Intermediary" (CBI) designation from the International Business Brokers Association, and is working on obtaining the Master of Merger and Acquisition Intermediary designation.
Association memberships include: Beta Gamma Sigma (National business honor society), International Business Brokers Association, M&A Source, California Association of Business Brokers, American Production and Inventory Control Society, International Supply Chain Management, NAR, and CAR. John is a member of the Sunbelt Business Advisors, 2005 and 2006 Presidents Club for million dollar plus producers.
