Bill has earned the distinguished professional designation of Certified Business Intermediary from the International Business Brokers Association. Prior to joining Sunbelt, Bill was General Manager of a Fortune 500 chemical processing facility with international clientele. With 20 years experience in the chemical industry and six years traveling the world with the military, he has developed an extensive understanding of the manufacturing, distribution, construction, real estate and engineering fields, as well as global markets and customer relations. Bill holds a BSME from Christian Brothers University and an MBA from the University of Arkansas. He is a registered professional engineer and a licensed real estate broker. A graduate of Michigan State University's construction management program, he worked in residential and commercial real estate sales and construction. This led to the development, management and brokerage of hotels and their related hospitality businesses. Prior to joining Sunbelt he was President/COO of GuestHouse Inns, a nationally franchised hotel brand based in Little Rock that sold in 1999 to a publicly traded hotel company located in Atlanta, Georgia. He joined Sunbelt in 2000 and worked in the Little Rock office until 2003, reaching a Vice-President position. Jim and his partners acquired the Texarkana and Jonesboro, Arkansas Sunbelt offices in 2004, and the Little Rock, Arkansas Sunbelt office in 2005. Of the many hats Jim has worn in business, that of brokerage, helping people buy and sell their businesses, was the most interesting and satisfying to him. He chose Sunbelt because it is designed with smaller, privately owned business clients in mind, and Sunbelt has the size and resources to do a good job for them. Jim holds an Arkansas real estate broker license, a Certified Hotel Administrator designation with the American Hotel and Motel Association, is a past Fellow of the AH&MA's Educational Institute and a past member of the Arkansas Hospitality Association. Jim is married, and has a step-daughter living in Fayetteville, Arkansas with her husband, son, and daughter. When not spoiling the grandkids, Jim is immersed in ice hockey. He is the founder and nine year past-President of the local youth league, an over-the-hill player in adult hockey, a referee, and USA Hockey's State Supervisor of Officials. Marvin was a District Manager for TCBY before he decided to purchase his own business. Marvin left TCBY to purchase a Subway franchise. Over time, he became the owner of 10 Subway stores. During his ownership of the Subway stores he was appointed Director of Operations for the Subway Development Office for the State of Arkansas. He helped franchisees choose locations and assisted them in the opening of their stores. After starting his family, Marvin decided to sell the Subway stores. He enjoyed selling his stores so much that he decided to start a career selling businesses. Having dealt with Sunbelt before, he was impressed with their operations and decided to become part of the Sunbelt team. Marvin recently earned his CBI. He is looking forward to helping you with the purchase of a business, or with the sale of your business. Marvin received his education at Conway High School and the University of Central Arkansas.
