Lou Vescio graduated from Clarion State College with a BS in Mathematics. He then joined the US Air Force as an aviator where he flew both F-4 and C-141 aircraft, including a combat tour in South East Asia during the Viet Nam conflict. Upon separation from active duty, Lou transferred to the reserve forces and continued flying F-4 aircraft until his retirement from the Air National Guard in 1994.
In 1977, Lou joined Texas Instruments, Defense Electronics Group, and worked in a variety of managerial positions to include manufacturing engineering, production control, operations analysis and product marketing. When he left the company in 1992, he was a Marketing Director for the Defense Electronics Group.
Lou and his wife Maggie then started Futurekids of Virginia Beach, a franchised computer training business, and grew it to one of the top five franchises in the country within the first year. He also worked as a Regional Director for the franchise, training new franchisees in the operation of the business. In 1997, Lou was a cofounder of ICTS, Inc., a high end computer training business. This business grew to about $11.5 million in sales in the next five years. Lou and his wife sold the Futurekids franchise in 2000 and their interest in ICTS in 2001.
After a brief retirement, Lou began employment as a Business Broker with Ferrari Sunbelt Business Brokers in Florida. During his first year, he was the top sales associate out of the five offices in the Ferrari Sunbelt Group in Central Florida. He then purchased two Sunbelt territories from Ferrari Sunbelt and is the Licensed Broker for his business serving the Space and Treasure Coasts of Florida.
Lou’s formal education includes attending graduate schools at Webster College and the University of Dallas with specialties in Business Administration and Economics, the Juran Quality Assurance Program, and the Texas Instrument’s Management and Senior Management Programs. He also has extensive experience in manufacturing and production processes, as well as product marketing and consulting. In 2006, Lou earned his Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) designation from the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA), and in 2007 he earned the Merger and Acquisition Master Intermediary (M&AMI) certification from the M&A Source Division of the IBBA. Less than 1% of the business brokers worldwide have earned these certifications and every CBI & M&AMI has demonstrated expertise as the result of advanced study in listing, selling, marketing, investment, taxes, and business valuation.
In 2006, Lou also was recognized as one of the “top fifty” Brokers in the Sunbelt Business Brokerage Network, which is comprised of more than 300 offices throughout the U.S. and 25 foreign countries. His practice specializes in high end “main street” business brokerage and lower middle market merger and acquisition transactions in the $1M to $20M range. In addition, Lou teaches professional courses and conducts seminars for the IBBA, and has been quoted in numerous publications to include the New York Times and Florida Today Newspapers.
Lou married Margaret (Maggie) Otto in 1969 and they have two adult children, David and Robert Vescio. They currently reside in Indian Harbour Beach, FL. |
