Jeff is a graduate of Miami University. He has been the Chief Operating Officer of Merrymeeting since its inception in 2001. Prior to joining MMI, Jeff was the Chief Financial Officer for several businesses. He was also previously a Manager with KPMG, the international accounting and consulting firm.

Jeff is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Business Intermediary (CBI), Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and a licensed insurance broker. He is also a certified instructor for the International Business Brokers Association.

Matt Ottaway

Matt graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University in 1996 with a BA in Classical Languages and spent the next several years teaching Latin at Georgetown Preparatory School. In 1999, he moved to Cleveland to pursue his MBA from Case Western Reserve University. After graduating in 2001, he joined Fifth Third Bank as a commercial loan officer, specializing in working with Middle Market companies with annual sales of $10 to $100 million.

Since joining MMI in February, 2006, Matt has been responsible for the day-to-day operations of Sunbelt. Over the past five years, he has overseen the redevelopment of Sunbelt’s technological, training and sales and marketing platforms. He has also been responsible for growing Sunbelt’s franchise base and integrating other business development opportunities into Sunbelt. Among other certifications, Matt is s Certified Small Business Broker (CSBB) as well as a Certified Middle Market Business Intermediary (CMMBI). Additionally, he is a Series 7-General Securities Representative, Series 63-Registered Representative, a Series 79-Investment Banking Representative, a Series 24-General Securities Principal and a certified instructor for the International Business Brokerage Association.

Matt currently serves on the board of directors for the Cleveland Association of Phi Beta Kappa and The Achievement Centers for Children. In his spare time, Matt enjoys running, golf, platform tennis and Cleveland’s restaurant scene. 

Laurel Park
Chief Financial Officer

Laurel has been the CFO of Merrymeeting, Inc, Sunbelt’s parent company, since its inception in 2001. She is responsible for all of MMI’s financial operations and our customer service center in Phoenix. She was previously the controller of a publicly traded company. Laurel is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a graduate of Arizona State University.
